Avengers: Endgame TV Spot Gives First Look At Valkyrie

Thor's friend from work is back! Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie debuted in Thor: Ragnarok but was not seen in Avengers: Infinity War. It was later confirmed by the Russo Brothers that she escaped with other surviving Asgardians. Apparently she survived The Decimation, too. She got her own Avengers: Endgame poster, and it was in color like the other lucky 50%.

And now one of the many new Avengers: Endgame TV spots has given us a very quick glimpse of Valkyrie, live and in color. She's actually the first one we see in the promo:

Nice! Looking forward to seeing more of her role in Avengers 4. It was suspected that she would return, especially when she was spotted with Ragnarok (and Men in Black: International) co-star Chris Hemsworth in September 2018, joining him when he flew to Atlanta for Avengers 4 reshoots.

Of course, since we're talking about the Russos and the MCU, we have to leave room for misdirection. It would be cruel to give Valkyrie fans that glimpse of her in the new TV spot and only learn that it was another mislead. But it does sound like she'll be back in some fashion, and Marvel did give her a new Endgame poster. Maybe we'll also see the return of the rest of the Asgardians. Will they join the fight against Thanos?

One of the most exciting things about Avengers: Endgame is the number of new characters working together. Even Avengers: Infinity War didn't cover every base. We have characters like Rhodey and Black Widow going to space for the first time, alongside Guardians Nebula and Rocket Raccoon, as Thor bonds with "new girl" Captain Marvel.

Speaking of Captain Marvel, actresses Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson are good friends off-screen, and they've been loving fans' social media posts pairing Valkyrie and Carol Danvers. So maybe fans can expect to see their characters at least meet on screen? Thompson has brought up the idea of Marvel women getting together to fight folks and hang out in space. Maybe she'll get her wish soon.

Continuing on that note, Marvel Studios also released another Endgame TV spot -- it's almost too much now! -- and this one was heavy on the foreshadowing of endings and goodbyes. It also focused a lot on Black Widow finding a family for the first time with the Avengers. She has her own movie coming up, but will it be after she loses her Avenger "family"?

Avengers: Endgame isn't quite the end of MCU Phase 3, as we initially thought, but it does seem to mark the endgames for some original stars and their characters. Chris Hemsworth may be on that boat, although he has said he'd be happy to return as Thor whenever they need him. If Valkyrie is in Endgame, she'd probably connect with Thor at some point. If the rest of the Asgardians return as well, will Thor want to leave to help start a new life with them, after they do whatever they do with Thanos? I have been avoiding any spoilers, so all speculation is valid to me.

Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters this Friday, April 26, as one of the many movies playing on the big screen through 2019.

John Wick: Chapter 3 Ending - What Happens And What It Means For The Next Movie

Warning: Spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum are in play. If you haven’t seen the film, then bookmark this piece and come back later once you’re caught up. Tick tock, dear readers; you’re not going to want to wait too long to see this one.

At the end of John Wick: Chapter 2, it felt like the fortunes of poor John (Keanu Reeves) were at their worst. With his status as an excommunicado exile, per The High Table’s orders and the codes of The Continental, a worldwide hit was about to be put out on his person, and there were plenty of people eager to collect that bounty.

However, the ending of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum has raised the stakes even higher, leaving poor Jonathan with an even tighter spot to work his way out of. With these new circumstances come new alliances though, as well as a potential way out that would change the fabric of the John Wick franchise forever.

This is your last chance to back out of here, before spoilers start flying like bullets. If you’re not current on the John Wick franchise, you should go and rectify that ASAP, and enjoy some of our other coverage of Chapter 3. What Happens During The Ending Of John Wick: Chapter 3?

After being threatened with being removed from his position at the head of the New York branch of The Continental, its venerable owner Winston (Ian McShane) reaches a compromise with The Adjudicator (Asia Kate Dillon) of The High Table. The deal is simple, but effective: if he kills John Wick, he’s allowed to keep his position and the hotel will be re-consecrated as a safe haven for anyone in their world to claim as sanctuary.

With that deal in place, Winston shoots John, causing him to fall off of the roof and into an alley next to The Continental. The Adjudicator is mostly satisfied with their terms being fulfilled, and they let Winston and Charon (Lance Reddick) go back to business as usual. However, there’s one problem: John Wick’s body has mysteriously disappeared. Winston certainly isn’t worried, as he goes about his business, and the issue is warily waived off.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum ends with John coming to in front of The Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne,) who survived his seven cuts at the hands of Zero (Mark Dacascos) earlier in the film. Healed, but scarred, The Bowery King has sworn vengeance against The High Table. With an all-out war on the menu, John Wick and The Bowery King form an alliance in their mutual scorn of the institution that has ruled their lives for so long.

What It Means For The Next Chapter

With John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’s ending in place, there’s one big factor still in play: John’s presumed dead, and even if he wasn’t, those sitting at The High Table would want him liquidated. So no matter what John’s next moves are, they’re going to have to be pretty large, and very secretive. If there’s a John Wick: Chapter 4, you can bet it’ll probably feel like one extended stealth mission.

But perhaps the greater threat is the fact that, unlike John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, John more than likely won’t have the unofficial help of his dear friend Winston. While the last film saw the central assassin still wandering, with some help from the man running New York’s branch of The Continental, this next hypothetical outing would see them presumably on separate sides of the divide.

Winston

With his presumed killing of John Wick putting him back in the good graces of The High Table, Winston has regained the right to run his beloved Continental. And with the location just being reconsecrated as a result of this action, you can be sure that Winston won’t want to jeopardize his position with those that rule the criminal underworld of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

So if John Wick: Chapter 4 should kick off in the future, it would most likely start with John totally unable to access The Continental’s services. Though this time out, it truly would be a total blackout, as Winston would be watched more carefully, as The Adjudicator knows how this last round played out, and they wouldn’t want to take any chances when it comes to John’s possible resurfacing.

The Bowery King

While John Wick more than likely won’t have the help of Winston to fall back on, he has a new ally that he’ll be able to work with. The Bowery King would be a sort of substitute to the mentorship that Winston would offer John in the past, seeing as John’s technically supposed to be dead. Though if he’s really going to wage war with The High Table, there’s no better partner that John Wick could have asked for.

With his network of homeless spies and compatriots blanketing the city of New York, The Bowery King has somewhat of a tactical advantage. Though he’ll definitely need to recruit some more friends, as there were quite a few dispatched in The High Table’s punishment for his previous aid to John Wick. Possibly the most exciting prospect for John Wick: Chapter 4 is that not only will we see more of The Bowery King’s world, we just might get to know him better, as he could spring into the action himself.

The High Table

Much as The Bowery King and John Wick are ready for war at the end of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, The High Table is going to more than likely have a greater stake in the conflict to come. While they let Winston off the hook for the absence of a corpse for Mr. Wick, The Adjudicator isn’t dumb and has probably reported to their superiors that John is probably still going to be a concern.

At the very least, these power brokers in the shadows are going to want to actively seek out the body of Mr. Wick, and put him in the ground for good. But if they’re all concerned enough about Wick and The Bowery King’s alliance, something else they’re probably more than aware of, they may be compelled to step out of the darkness and hunt him down themselves. While we in the audience may know how that would turn out, The High Table is more than likely convinced they have the upper hand against the man who has more than earned the nickname “Baba Yaga.”

Obviously, the future of John Wick’s universe is up in the air, as the box office performance of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum will dictate if the series moves forward, and where it will head. One thing is for certain though: no matter how he resurfaces, John Wick is going to be in more trouble than he’s ever been before. And judging how he’s handled himself these past three films, we’re starting to think he prefers it that way.

What Every Major Batman Actor Was Famous For Prior To Playing Bruce Wayne

Since reports surfaced last week that Robert Pattinson would be playing the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, the internet’s outcry has revolved around memories of the actor’s iconic Twilight role of Edward Cullen. Pattinson infamously glittered as a century-old vampire in love with an awkward teenage girl in the five film franchise between 2008 and 2012.

A petition has even made its way online already to boycott Robert Pattinson's casting, as fans have started to divide over the news of the upcoming Batman flick. It’s a predictable response that has happened time and time again during the comic book character’s many iterations over the years. The Dark Knight is beloved by many and fans have been burned before, so strong opinions are bound to come up when the news doesn’t match up with what’s expected or desired.

If past Batman portrayals have taught us anything, it’s this: what they're famous for before suiting up isn’t directly related to how great or not great they’ll be once they do. The filmmakers’ vision and ability to carry this out effectively is what defines a good Batman movie. In honor of The Batman reportedly moving forward with Robert Pattinson taking on the next Bruce Wayne performance, let’s venture back to every major Batman actor's impression on the public prior to their Batman debut.

Michael Keaton - Beetlejuice

Before taking on Batman in the first live-action version of the superhero in over 20 years, Michael Keaton was best known for playing in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice. The actor started out in a role that bared more of a resemblance to the Dark Knight’s arch nemesis Joker. If the internet had existed in those days, a lot of folks certainly voiced their concern for the choice considering how goofy and villainous Keaton's most famous role showcased him as. Of course, this collaboration with Burton (which he recently went back to with Dumbo) may have been the very reason why he got his foot in the door to play Batman in the first place.

Michael Keaton had a couple of other roles under his utility belt too. He had his first starring role in Ron Howard’s Night Shift, starring Henry Winkler and Shelley Long. He also played in two other comedies, Mr. Mom and Touch and Go. Looking back, Keaton’s Batman movies are on the more cheesy, comedic side as opposed to the brooding Dark Knights of today but his past roles didn’t exactly scream Bruce Wayne before he nabbed the part.

Val Kilmer - Top Gun

When Val Kilmer was cast in Batman Forever for Joel Schumacher’s first of two takes on the masked vigilante, he had not yet become the action hero we know him as today. The actor broke into Hollywood at 25 with the 1985 comedy Real Genius and then starred as Iceman one year later in the box office mega hit Top Gun. Kilmer definitely had the pretty boy charm to dazzle as the well-off Bruce Wayne. With an overstuffed cast and so-so movie however, the actor won’t go down in history as the best of the Batmen, but it wasn’t his fault, and his performance as the character is actually pretty underrated.

Val Kilmer’s casting as the Caped Crusader may have been a bit more straightforward in comparison to Michael Keaton’s, but the disappointing final product had a lot to do with the movie itself. It goes to show that good casting doesn’t always pan out for both the actor and the fans because there are a lot of moving parts that contribute to a movie finding its wings. Either way, Batman Forever still did well commercially and launched Kilmer in more action roles for years to come.

George Clooney - ER

We now move from the good to the kinda bad to the ugly. Joel Schumacher had another shot at a Batman film, this time with George Clooney as the Bat, and it’s famously a doozie. Even Clooney admitted Batman & Robin “wasn’t a good film” and he doesn’t think he was good in it. However, after he starred in the film Clooney really rose to stardom, much because he learned a lesson to be more choosy in his roles. Before there was Ocean’s Eleven, Up in the Air, The Descendants and Gravity, and before he suited up bat nipples and all, he was best known for playing a hunky doctor on ER.

George Clooney was a heartthrob on the small screen when he played Dr. Doug Ross on the NBC medical drama from 1994 to 1999 before he became Batman. Playing a good-looking hero certainly can’t help one’s chances at nabbing the role of Dark Knight. The actor could have done better as the Caped Crusader if it wasn’t for all the tacky puns and choices the movie made. The role has certainly stopped Clooney from looking in even the general direction of superhero franchises since the experience though.

Christian Bale - American Psycho

After Hollywood took a long break from making more Batman movies, Warner Bros decided to take a crack at Christopher Nolan’s darker take on the comic book hero starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. Before he was known for the critically-acclaimed Dark Knight trilogy, Bale was most recognized as playing Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. The haunting role had Bale playing a psychopath with a thirst for violent fantasies - which isn’t exactly in line with Batman’s m.o.

Christian Bale had just finished playing an underweight insomniac for The Machinist too when he took on the role and packed on 100 pounds to play the Bat. He actually gained too much and had to drop down 20 before starring in 2005’s Batman Begins. Bale was the first English actor to play Batman, so he likely got some flack at the time for portraying an American hero - though today tons of British actors have successfully taken on superhero roles. The actor wasn’t an obvious choice when he was cast, but now is one the highest regarded actors who have donned the cape and cowl.

Ben Affleck - Argo

Unlike the other Batman actors, Ben Affleck was quite a seasoned actor when he was cast as Bruce Wayne for the DCEU. The actor had a presence in Hollywood for over 20 years, with famed roles in movies like Good Will Hunting, Armageddon, Daredevil and so forth. At the time of Affleck’s casting in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, he was most remembered for starring and directing in Argo, which won Best Picture at the Oscars in 2013.

With the legacy of Christian Bale’s Batman lurking in the shadows, the studio purposely went for an older, more seasoned Batman for the movie in order to avoid comparisons and skip out on telling his origin story again. When Ben Affleck was initially cast, many fans felt he was the wrong choice for the part. However, he ended up faring quite well among audiences as the character once he played the role on the big screen. Still, he never really got time to shine as he shared his screen time with Superman and the Justice League as DCEU attempted to form. After Justice League’s critical failure and Affleck dealing with substance abuse, he left the role and left the solo film wide open for yet another actor.

So now history repeats itself! It's time for another Batman. Robert Pattinson’s resume is actually a lot more extensive than his peers, as he has branched out to dramatic roles in films such as The Lost City of Z, Good Time and High Life along with leading the highly-successful Twilight franchise at the start of his career - oh, and he was in a Harry Potter film too!

From what we know so far about Matt Reeves project has a lot going for it too! The writer/director best known for the latest Planet of the Apes entries has a noir-type tale that will have him showing off his detective skills and going head-to-head with a rogue gallery of villains. So, why not Robert Pattinson? If he was cast in the role, Reeves must have thought he was the man for the job.

Triple Frontier Has A Donkey Scene That Was Hilarious To Film

In the new Netflix action thriller Triple Frontier, there’s a serious montage of scenes where, as part of said montage, actors Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund are seen shepherding a couple of donkeys across a river in the South American jungle. So leave it to their animal co-stars to make things interesting when it came time to actually shoot those scenes, as the actors recently spoke with CinemaBlend about a particularly hilarious day on set involving donkeys, water, and bathroom humor. Here’s how the actors described the scenario, when asked what day on set made them most feel like an action hero:

Hunnam: Probably the day we had to swim with the donkeys, right?

[Hunnam and Hedlund break into laughter]

Hunnam: Garrett and I picked the short straw. Or, I guess, in his usual Machiavellian way, J.C. [Chandor] went and asked all of us, independently, if we would be prepared to swim across the length of a swimming pool with a pack of mules. And everybody else said no, apart from, I guess, Garrett and I.

Hedlund: It was more of a fecal matter issue for some of the cast.

While the finished product is a sobering experience, when the heroes at the center of Triple Frontier are at a particularly difficult time in their heist, the story above is anything but. And watching Hunnam and Hedlund laughing it up during the telling of said story only makes the tale that much more interesting.

This is only compounded by the fact that, of course, this story involving animal actors contains a moment where the donkeys involved had to relieve themselves. It's a classic trope in humor that has legs, and for very good reason. At this point, the story gets even more interesting as this old saw gets a new spin through some colorful descriptions from Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund. The Triple Frontier co-stars elaborated on this story with the following:

Hunnam: Well it was when we got into the pool, and they started defecating all over the place.

Hedlund: The fun thing is, my donkey had to go first, and when a donkey gets in the water, they tend to try and get to the other side…

Hunnam: That’s going to be the name of your biography, ‘My Donkey Had To Go First.’

Hedlund: ...so if a donkey gets in the water, they tend to try and get to the other side as quick as they can. So trying to see Charlie keep up with his donkey, following my donkey, was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my life.

It’s certainly not the easiest thing in the world to work with an animal actor on a set such as the one for Triple Frontier. Considering they’re one of the two types of performers that have historically been on the list of collaborators not to work with, you can kind of see why. Just imagining two actors such as Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund, trying to get through the day of shooting with a donkey that really had to go is enough to break even the most stoic spectator into a fit of laughter.

Of course, describing their humorous reactions to filming this particular stretch of Triple Frontier is one thing. But if you want to watch Hunnam and Hedlund really delight in the reveal of this story, you can see it all for yourself below.

Don't let that story about the donkeys fool you, as the behind the scenes story you've just experienced doesn't sour the Triple Frontier experience at all. If anything, it proves that all involved, particularly Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund in this specific instance, are total professionals. It takes an extremely focused actor to portray a dramatic scene of crime and consequences, while wading through donkey dung; and this cast passes that test with flying colors.

Triple Frontier is in theaters now, with its Netflix streaming debut set for March 13th.

Rumor: Venom Could End Up In Spider-Man 3

In a few weeks, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) will receive a much-needed European vacation in the planned sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home. And according to the most recent trailers, that sequel will delve into something mysterious for the MCU: the Multiverse.

When Marvel and Sony get around to eventually doing a third Spider-Man movie, however, one rumor now speculates that the buzzword will be something even more exciting to Spider-Man fans: Symbiotes.

The Twitter account for Roger Wardell broke some Avengers: Endgame rumors that turned out to be very accurate, so there’s a chance that the person’s “Insider Information” is accurate. For the time being, we will chalk this up as rumor, as there isn’t even a Spider-Man 3 for the MCU on the books at Sony, and the studio is focusing instead on getting Spider-Man: Far From Home off the ground.

But bringing Tom Hardy as Venom into the MCU makes a whole lot of sense, particularly because audiences responded far better than we would have anticipated to the character when he got his own movie in Venom. You wouldn’t want to have an MCU Venom as well as a Sony Venom. And the only time that we have been able to see our favorite wallcrawler sharing the screen with one of his most-popular villains was in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, which was a trainwreck of epic proportions.

At the same time, Sony might not be in a rush to lend their Venom over to the MCU, despite what the above Tweet suggests. The studio seems hard at work at their standalone “Spidey” universe k(that doesn’t have Spider-Man in it yet, mind you), with Morbius following up Venom, and plans for a Venom 2 that assumedly will develop Woody Harrelson as Carnage.

Venom made a lot of money for Sony, banking $855 million globally. Audiences will return for the sequel, out of curiosity. The better bet, for Sony at least, would be to lure Tom Holland from Marvel Studios back to Sony, where he can play alongside Hardy, Jared Leto and the stars being set up in the Sony Spidey universe.

But I can also understand why Marvel wants a heavy hitter like Venom in the MCU. It’s a difficult situation.

There are better villains who seem to be more important to Spider-Man than Venom who should get a shot at the MCU treatment. The Venom origin story has been truncated in the Sony universe, so far, so trying to bring him over to the MCU without properly addressing the alien symbiote suit might get confusing.

Personally, as a die-hard Spider-Man fan, I’d love to see the MCU get a proper crack at two classic Spidey villains before they even started thinking about Venom, and that’s both Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius. Osborn could become a Big Bad not just in the Spider-Man movies, but in the larger MCU, as Norman became a chief adversary for many major Marvel heroes over the years.

And the most recent Playstation Spider-Man game mapped out a fantastic way for the MCU to do Doc Ock on screen. Also, more than enough time has passed since Alfred Molina’s spectacular rendition of Doc Ock in Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, so we are ready to see a new version of the character.

For now, this is all a rumor. All we know for certain is that Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) is joining Spider-Man’s corner of the MCU in July, and what happens after that is up in the air. Click here, then, for more details on all that we know about Upcoming Marvel Movies.

Kevin Hart Riding A Camel For Jumanji 3 Is As Hilarious As You'd Expect

As one might imagine, playing a video game character isn’t as easy as it looks, whether it be through challenging destinations, badass stunts, and long hours of gameplay -- you know, the usual! When Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle assembled comedic duo Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in the roles of avatars, their over-a-foot height difference, differing experiences in the action movie sphere, and great chemistry certainly made for some hilarious moments. Just take a look at this behind-the-scenes bit from the set of the upcoming sequel:

Putting Kevin Hart on a camel for the next Jumanji movie is comedic gold, especially with The Rock in the background recording him on said camel for his Instagram, hoping he’ll catch him falling off. With this video from the set of his upcoming holiday release, Dwayne Johnson explained that he’s had plenty of camel training, especially during his time as The Scorpion King in the early ‘00s. It doesn’t look like the actor has been quick to pass on his knowledge to Kevin Hart out of the fun of seeing him interact with the camels.

The comedian took to Instagram to comment on The Rock’s Jumanji 3 set video. Here’s what he said:

That camel had a attitude...shit scared the hell out of me.

Kevin Hart added five laughing emojis to make it clear he had a sense of humor about it all. He then followed Johnson’s lead and posted his own camel post on Instagram, which featured the duo looking a lot more friendly with each other and their desert animal co-workers. Check it out:

Gotta love how Dwayne Johnson posts a video hoping Kevin Hart will fall and Hart posts a cute photo with them -- including a loving message to Johnson, calling him his brother! The pair have been filming in the Navajo Desert in New Mexico following starting out the year shooting in Atlanta. After they wrapped in Atlanta a few weeks ago, Dwayne Johnson teased that the cast would be moving the project to the desert, snow-capped mountains and jungles. Looks like there is still a lot more to do for the cast before the film is released in December!

Along with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart returning, Jumanji 3 will also star Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, and the same teenagers in the 2017 action flick. Hart has teased that the new film will see the teens finding themselves back in the game but in a new level on a more risky adventure with raised stakes. Gillan’s Ruby Roundhouse will also reportedly evolve and have more to do this time around.

Jumanji 3 also has enlisted an impressive handful of new actors to the cast including Danny DeVito, Awkwafina, Danny Glover, and Dania Ramirez in undisclosed roles. The untitled Jumanji film will hit theaters on December 13.

The summer season, so far, has been all about the Avengers, but there are plenty more franchise looking to make a splash as the temperatures rise outside. Spider-Man will swing through his own sequel. The Toys are back in town for Toy Story 4, and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) will absorb the power of the Phoenix in Simon Kinberg’s Dark Phoenix.

And then there are the Men In Black, who will add a fresh-faced new female recruit to their ranks when Tessa Thompson teams with Chris Hemsworth for Men In Black International. The promotional campaign is stepping up, as of late, including this clever and very timely use of the neuralyzer, which Game of Thrones fans probably want to use on its millions of viewers:

And no, this isn’t a dig at Dany laying waste to King’s Landing with her one remaining dragon (though seriously, a lot of Game of Thrones fans likely want their own neuralyzer to block out the bulk of season eight). This is a clever dig laid by Men In Black International about the coffee cup left on the Thrones set during a post-battle celebration. Happier times! Remember those?

With the help of a trusty neuralyzer, all one has to do is stare into the light, and the memory that you want gone is wiped. It was a funny bit every time Will Smith of Tommy Lee Jones did it in the original Men In Black films. We can’t wait to see how Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson use it in the new film.

When CinemaBlend visited the set of Men In Black International, we learned that the neuralyzer actually will play a bigger role in the story of this new team, with Chris Hemsworth’s character – Agent H – potentially suffering from a memory wipe after an early confrontation. Beyond that tease, details were kept under wraps, but we’ll know the full story once the movie comes out.

F. Gary Gray directs Men In Black International, recruiting Tessa Thompson out of the bureau’s New York office and then sending her to London where she’ll team with Chris Hemsworth and Liam Neeson on a globe-trotting adventure.
